Today’s Small Cap Market Movers (NASDAQ: QUOT,MDNU,LACO)

This morning, Life Quotes Inc. (NASDAQ: QUOT) is trading at $3.96 up $1.20 or 43% for the day. LQ acquisition Inc. is commencing a cash tender offer for all the outstanding publicy held shares in Life Quotes Inc. for $4.00 a share. LQ Acquisition has 31% of QUOT shares already and will continue buying until the offer expires at 12:00 (midnight) EST. In Life Quotes last first quarter conference call, the company reported revenue of 2.4 million, a decrease of 39% from a year ago. Net loss was $.12 a share. 

    
Medical Nutrition USA Inc. (NASDAQ: MDNU) is also being acquired today by Danone. The company is trading at 3.96 up 1.18 or 42%. In a very similar deal Danone North America Inc. is acquiring all outstanding shares of MDNU for 4.00 a share in cash, or approximately $62.3 million. Danone plans to merge Medican Nutrition USA with one of its wholly owned subsidiaries upon completion of the deal.   
The company’s last report of earnings was in April, noting an increase in net income $216,7000 in comparison with a net loss of 136,100 a year earlier. Gross profit had also increased to 2,482,200 or 55% of sales, an increase from 1,927,600 or 52% of sales. 
 
 
  Finally, Lakes Entertainment, NASDAQ: LACO is trading at $1.77 up .30 or 20%. Lakes announced its first quarter results this morning, logging a net loss of 4.7 million ($.18 a share) in comparison to a loss of 1. million a year ago. Revenue decreased as well, which was attributed to increased competition in the Four winds Casino Resort market space. Investors may be confident in this company because of ongoing projects and unrealized gains relating to unfinished projects. Management noted that progress is continuing on all four casino projects.
